Lexington, KY – Prosecutors have filed notice that they plan to seek the death penalty in the murder case against former Kentucky lawmaker Steve Nunn. Fayette County Commonwealth's Attorney Ray Larson says that the paperwork was filed yesterday in Lexington.
The 57-year-old Nunn is accused of fatally shooting his former fiancee, Amanda Ross, outside her home in Lexington last September. Nunn has pleaded not guilty. On Monday, a judge ruled that Nunn, a longtime lawmaker and son of a former Kentucky governor, is competent to stand trial.
