Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's Street Committee voted Thursday to recommend the city council spend up to 500-thousand-dollars on a road study. The study would analyze the need for an east-west traffic corridor connecting Wilma Rudolph Boulevard to Jack Miller Boulevard behind the Hampton Plaza shopping center. Street Department engineering manager Jack Frazier says the construction timeline depends on growth in the area, but he says a dire need for the road will surface in about 10 to 15 years. Frazier says the city will need to secure space for the road before it's taken by other homes or businesses. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports the road plan is the first major proposal to come out of the city's master planning process.
