Metropolis, IL – The Metropolis City Council approved appointments to a citizens' advisory panel Monday night to assess city employee health insurance costs. Mayor Billy McDaniel says the city's insurance plan has been criticized recently because some think it's too costly. Council members appointed insurance professional Jeff Crippen to chair the committee along with four other community members. The council is seeking a 6th committee member.
