Murray, KY – Three regional high schools will join the Advance Kentucky program. Hopkinsville High School, Christian County High School and Trigg County High School join advanced placement Teacher Training and Incentive program. Advance Kentucky Executive Director Joanne Lang says the program will aid Kentucky students in many ways.
"What research shows is that participation and success in AP is a driver in increase ATC scores, in increased college going rates, increased ability to stay in college. So there's lots of national data that indicates not only participation in, but success in AP can make a difference."
44 Kentucky Schools participate in the program including, Graves County, Hopkins County, Lone Oak, Reidland and Madisonville North Hopkins High. A 13.2 million-dollar National Math and Science Initiative grant funds the project. Contributors to the program include Exxon Mobile, Dell and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
