Revised Guidelines Will Cut Travel Costs

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's top lawmakers have agreed to changes in travel guidelines that will reduce by more than a third the estimated travel costs of state legislators. The policy changes will limit the number of trips for which lawmakers receive pay. The changes also restrict the number of days lawmakers are paid during out-of-state trips.

The changes were announced Tuesday by Senate President David Williams and House Speaker Greg Stumbo. They say the changes will help hold down costs and ensure state funds are used wisely. The revised travel guidelines will take effect June 1st.
