Frankfort, KY – A new report says Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's office is investigating the Kentucky League of Cities. Conway met with the editorial board of the Lexington Herald-Leader Tuesday and confirmed there was an active investigation, but declined comment beyond saying "there is some activity that is potentially criminal."
State Auditor Crit Luallen released a report in December, detailing high expenses, questionable bonuses and conflicts of interest at league of cities. She sent the audit to Conway's office. Regarding the attorney general's investigation, Jackson Mayor Mike Miller, who is chairman of the league's executive board, says he would "let the attorney general do what he thinks needs to be done."
