Frankfort, KY – Testing is beginning this week in Kentucky public schools where about 500,000 students will take the Kentucky Core Content Test in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. The results will be used to determine whether students are meeting federal math and reading standards under the No Child Left Behind Act. Last year, 60 percent of Kentucky schools met all of the Adequate Yearly Progress goals. This year's testing window is an extra week longer because of problems some districts have had with snow days and swine flu absences.
