Frankfort, KY – The Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration reports four Kentucky mines are among 48 of the most dangerous mines in America, including Highland Mining in Union County. California Congressman George Miller released the list. He says the 48 mines on the list have been cited for serious safety violations but they're contesting many of those citations. The Democratic Congressman says congress will work to make all mines in the nation safer.
"We expect to work with the entire delegation, with the senate delegation, as we try to uncover what has taken place here."
The other Kentucky sites include, Clean Energy and Cam Mining, both in Pike County, and Viper Coal in Knott County.
