Bardwell, KY – A Carlisle County grand jury has indicted an American Red Cross Chapter Representative for accepting donations for a defunct chapter. Carolyn Reid of Bardwell faces eight counts of theft, one count of failure to make required disposition of property and one count of exploitation of an adult. Kentucky State Police arrested Reid last Friday. Investigators allege after the Carlisle County chapter ceased operation in 1998, Reid collected approximately $11,000 until 2009. She is also charged with taking about $300,000 from a family member. Detectives first received a complaint of Reid's suspected activities in March. State police continue to investigate.
