Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear vetoed a bill today that would have required more scrutiny of contractual agreements with people and companies providing government services. The Governor's veto comes after county attorneys voiced concern about potential effects on contractors hired to collect child support payments from parents who fall into arrears. The bill required contracts of one-million-dollars or more be scrutinized by a legislative committee and contracts less than 40-thousand-dollars be routinely submitted to a legislative committee for review.
