Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell's 101st Airborne Division 2nd Combat Brigade is gearing up to deploy to Kandahar Province in Afghanistan. The base is holding a Colors Casing ceremony at 10:00am Friday on Strike field. This is the regiment's first deployment overseas after serving three tours in Iraq since 2003. Nearly 20,000 soldiers from the division are deploying this year to Afghanistan and some are part of the military's troop buildup to quell the insurgency there.
