House Panel Delays Traffic Camera Proposal

By AP

Nashville, TN – A proposal to place greater restrictions on the use of traffic cameras in Tennessee has been placed among bills to be considered once the state spending plan is set. Sponsors say something needs to be done to prevent local governments from abusing the cameras to generate revenue.

The legislation includes requiring an engineering study before putting up future cameras, and that cities and counties make the locations of those cameras available on local government websites.
