Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Chief Justice John Minton Junior announced today a plan to eliminate over one hundred positions because of a budget shortfall for the judicial branch. The state's judicial branch faces nearly seven million dollars in loses for the fiscal year beginning July 1st. One hundred and thirteen positions represent nearly three and a half percent of the judicial branch's non-elected workforce. A judicial branch budget was passed during the state lawmaker's 60-day session, ending without an executive branch budget.
