Better Business Bureau warning to flood victims

By Rebecca Feldhaus/KPR

Murray, KY – Flooded basements and worse are commonplace across Kentucky today. Now the job of clean up and in some cases significant repair work begins. Heather Clary with the Better Business Bureau advises take some time to investigate the best and financially secure way to go.

"Sometimes when people are in a situation like this they are in a hurry to get things done and get it done fast and they may not think of all these points to keep in mind but it can really avoid a head ache down the road just have your little tick list ready to go check them out with the b-b-b check out any licensing if necessary ask for verification of their insurance."

Clary says many reputable repair and clean up firms are listed in the telephone book or on the internet. But, she says that's not a guarantee. It is still best to check out a firm you know little or nothing about.
