Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County, Tennessee, has been declared a federal disaster area following severe storms, tornadoes and flooding over the weekend. Montgomery was added to the growing list of counties that have been approved for federal funding for residents who sustained damage and losses. Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen has requested assistance for 52 counties in all. The federal government has approved six so far. Nashville Mayor Karl Dean estimates flood damage costs could easily top $1 billion.
