Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee emergency Management Agency expect to find a number of animal carcasses after floodwaters recede. Officials suggest avoiding pets, wildlife and livestock carcasses to protect personal and public health and safety. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will continue routine animal pick up and disposal services along state roads and highways. Farm owners with dead livestock should dispose of the animals in accordance with state law within 48 hours of the discovery. People who come in contact with unclaimed dead livestock should contact her county service for disposal assistance.
