Oak Grove Police Excessive Force Case

By Chris Taylor

Oak Grove, KY – One Oak Grove, Kentucky police officer has been suspended and another has resigned after an internal investigation found evidence a K-9 unit used excessive force to remove a man from a vehicle. Sergeant Vincent Brown was suspended last month and Officer James Layne resigned his position after a video recording allegedly showed the unit allowing their police dog to unnecessarily bite a man on the arm. The finding comes after the state Attorney General forced Oak Grove officials to release details of the investigation to the Kentucky New Era after initially denying an Open Records request.
