Fort Campbell, KY – The commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell is giving his soldiers a day off to clean up their homes and help others after severe flooding in Tennessee and Kentucky. Major General John Campbell says he is also encouraging those who had no damage to volunteer in recovery efforts today.
Twenty people were killed in the weekend's storms in Tennessee and another 10 were killed in Kentucky and Mississippi. Damages in Nashville alone were estimated to top $1 billion.
Volunteers can meet at 9:00 am at the Veterans Plaza in Clarksville, Tennessee, to sign up for recovery work.
