Murray, KY – A flood warning remains in effect until 2 this afternoon for eastern Calloway, western Trigg, eastern Marshall, Lyon, southern Livingston and south central Crittenden counties. Local authorities report continued flooding across the warned area. Numerous roads and campgrounds along Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake are being inundated. The National Weather Service reports levels upstream of Barkley will continue to rise. Levels downstream, however, are not expected to increase.
A lake wind advisory is in effect from 9 this morning to 8 tonight. Southwest winds will become strong by mid morning, and persist through the afternoon and early evening as a strong cold front approaches our region.
We'll see southwest winds in the 20 to 30 mile per hour range, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour possible on the larger bodies of water.
