Paducah, KY – Plans to pave a new access road to Hendron-Lone Oak Elementary School are in the works. The McCracken Fiscal Court wants to sell the former Lone Oak City Hall building to fund the $35,000 project. The much-needed alternative would help alleviate afternoon traffic build up on Marshall Avenue, which has generated many complaints the congestion is a traffic hazard and would block access to emergency vehicles. The Paducah Sun reports the former city hall will soon go up for public auction after the fiscal court recently rejected sealed bids that were far-under its appraised value.
