Paducah, KY – Paducah Police Chief James Berry is expected to ask city commissioners tonight to create a mounted unit that would help enforce downtown festivals, as well as city parks and trails. Berry tells the Paducah Sun the mounted patrols would be a community asset. Costs are estimated around $24,000 for the first year and would include purchasing equipment and two horses, training them and their riders and feeding them for a year.
