Cadiz, KY – The Cadiz city council hears the second reading of a proposed alcohol ordinance June 1. The council passed the ordinance's first reading without any changes. Mayor Lyn Bailey says officials modeled the document off Trigg County's alcohol ordinance. The Kentucky General Assembly approved a classification change for Cadiz this session, which allows officials to collect taxes on alcohol. Bailey says Cadiz will likely receive six percent from alcohol sales. If passed, the law will go into effect July 15.
