By WKMS Staff

Grand Rivers, KY – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports that Lake Barkley water levels are headed back to normal. Colonel Keith Landry says Barkley is currently around seven feet above summer pool. At the current release rate, Landry expects the lake back to normal pool levels by Tuesday. TVA Civil Engineer Steve McLemore says Kentucky Lake will be only one foot above summer pool by Sunday. McLemore says the amount of water in the lake will taper off to regular numbers by Thursday. The standard summer pool for both lakes is 359 feet above sea level.
