Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County Director of Schools Mike Harris claims he's been threatened by Mayor Johnny Piper. Piper allegedly told Harris last week he would "make things difficult" for him after Harris declined to rescind a decision assigning Piper's wife, a school system psychologist, to different schools. This week, Piper made a formal request for school system records, asking for a list of its central office employees and payroll history. Soon after, Harris released details to the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle of an angry phone conversation with the Mayor, where Piper directly threatened him. Piper characterizes the discussion as asking a favor and denies directly threatening Harris.
