Central City, KY – The mayor of Central City has resigned following an arrest for drug charges. Mayor Jerry Mitchell resigned this week after three and half years in office. City Administrator David Rhoades says Barry Shaver will serve as mayor pro-tem. Shaver was the only other candidate in the upcoming election, so he will continue as mayor for the next four years.
