Fort Campbell, KY – The president of Afghanistan ended a week-long trip to the United States with a visit to Fort Campbell today. President Hamid Karzai met with more than 1,200 troops and their families in an event closed to media. In a quick speech, Karzai thanked troops for their service to Afghan people. The base's public affairs office reports he also mentioned improvements to the country's quality of life. 20,000 of Fort Campbell's 101st battalion is readying for a deployment to Afghanistan.
