Riedland – A Riedland man accused of putting his infant son into a kitchen oven has pleaded not guilty to first-degree wanton endangerment. Commonwealth's Attorney Dan Boaz says Larry Christopher Long entered the not guilty plea yesterday in McCracken County Circuit Court. 33-year-old Long told investigators he doesn't remember putting the five-week-old boy in the oven, but does remember changing the infant's diaper and feeding him at 3 AM. Long admitted he had smoked marijuana at work and drank about a fifth of whiskey when he came home that March evening. The boy's mother found the baby unharmed on a cookie sheet in the cold oven. He had been there for about two hours. A pretrial conference is scheduled for June 21. Long is currently out on bond.
