Paul: Kentucky Senate Win Would Be Strong for Tea Party

By AP

Bowling Green, KY – Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Rand Paul says a victory for him in Kentucky's primary would deliver a clear mandate for the tea party movement. Paul attended church in his hometown of Bowling Green Sunday but had no other public appearances just two days before his showdown Tuesday with rival Trey Grayson, who is Kentucky's secretary of state.

Paul is the son of Texas congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul. He told The Associated Press that the mood of the country and the Republican Party are in his favor. Paul is an eye doctor with no elective experience of his own. He says he'd be very surprised if things didn't go his way Tuesday.
