Marshall County Sheriff Keeps Job

Benton, Ky. – Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars will keep his job following last night's primary election. Byars collected nearly four thousand votes, winning 54 percent of the county. Challenger Jimmie Earl Tubbs came in second with just over 29 percent of the vote, and Troy Defew followed, taking nearly 17 percent. The Marshall County clerk reports that 7,304 people, representing 41 percent of registered voters in the county, turned out to the election.
