Murray, KY – Murray mayoral candidates Butch Sergeant and Bill Wells will go onto the November ballot. Third candidate Greg Anderson didn't make it past primary race. Sergeant led the primary with 37% of the vote, Wells took 33% and Anderson trailed with 28%. Butch Sergeant says he's excited by his lead.
"It's been a good race between Greg and Bill and it's just good to come out on top and I'm looking forward to run against Bill in November."
Bill Wells says he hopes to garner more support over the next stretch of the election.
"This is the first time I've ever run for mayor. I was on the city council for 20 years and I've really enjoyed that and it's been an interesting experience and I think it's basically halftime."
Greg Anderson thanked his supporters, saying he's proud of his campaign which raised some great issues. Voters will decide between Wells and Sergeant during the general election November 2.
