Murray, Ky. – Murray city officials are tight-lipped following today's sit-down with the attorney representing Murray firefighters suing for several years of back overtime pay. From 10 AM to just after 3 PM today (Wednesday), Mayor Danny Hudspeth, city attorney Warren Hopkins, and personnel/finance committee chairman Bill Wells, among other Murray officials met with Houston-based attorney Rex Burch. Burch is representing the 27 city firefighters involved in the case, including lead plaintiffs Kevin Doyle, Kevin Munsey and Kenneth Reynolds. The Murray City Council has scheduled a closed executive session for 5 PM tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss the pending litigation, after which they plan to reveal their recommendations to the public. At 5:30, the Finance Committee will meet to discuss the city budget.
