Police Investigate Keeton Halfway House

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – Multiple escapes at a Paducah halfway house have triggered a Kentucky State Police investigation. Two inmates are still at large, after an escape last month and another this week. The halfway house is operated by Keeton Corrections and is home to about 100 state and federal felons. Clinical services director Karen Hall confirms to the Paducah Sun one focus of investigators are allegations that inmates paid employees to allow them to leave during confinement hours. Hall says the escape last month has resulted in the termination of two employees, neither of whom are being identified or criminally charged. Kentucky's Department of Corrections is also conducting an investigation, probing the facility's operation for weaknesses.
