Bardwell, KY – The city of Bardwell is hoping to convince Amtrak to create a stop there. The train system already shuttles cars through the town. Mayor Phillip King wants the former police station on Front Street to serve as a depot. He tells WPSD-TV because Bardwell already has an available building with plenty of parking access close to the tracks, the move would come at no extra cost to taxpayers. A petition is expected to circulate next week in Carlisle County.
