Metropolis, IL – The Metropolis Illinois City Council could soon approve a proposal for a one time electric bill rebate. Council members and the Water, Light and Street Committee met with Corporate Counsel Rick Abell last night who proposed customers' receive rebates for the total of their April bill. The rebate would be subtracted from the June bill because of a lucrative year for the electric system. Abell says the system had a net income of six-hundred-thousand-dollars for this fiscal year, after the rebate. The City Council meets again Monday night, when they might approve the measure.
