Smithland, KY – As Calloway County Schools announces its hire of Livingston County's top school official, it leaves the Board of Education there tasked with searching for a new superintendent. A special meeting in Smithland this evening will begin that process. The Board is expected to appoint people to serve on an applicant screening committee made up of one school principal, one board member, four teachers and two parents. The Paducah Sun reports the School Board has already chosen member Samantha Williams to represent its interests on the committee. Superintendent Kenneth Bargo is expected to leave his post in Livingston County in the beginning of July.
