Beshear on Paul

By KPR

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear is expressing serious concerns about Republican U-S Senate nominee Rand Paul. The Democratic governor says Paul, politically, is a Libertarian, which Beshear calls "a fairly radical philosophy." Beshear says Kentuckians, of all political persuasions, need to learn as much as they can about Paul's positions on the issues.

"Because I think most of us really don't know at this point. And I think a lot of hard questions need to be asked and he needs to answer them, so that all Kentuckians will know exactly where he stands on a lot of issues before they get the opportunity to cast their vote in November."

Paul grabbed the Republican nomination in last Tuesday's primary, and faces Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway this fall. The two are vying for the US Senate seat currently held by Republican Jim Bunning, who didn't seek a third term.
