Paducah, KY – It's unlikely state lawmakers will adopt a budget that funds a new Paducah Middle School during the ongoing special session. The House is taking a hard line on funding construction for new schools, instead opting to allocate funds to study how the state's Department of Education ranks construction needs. State Senator Bob Leeper tells the Paducah Sun the Senate is working on a plan to borrow the money needed to construct new campuses to replace the state's 14 worst off schools, but doubts it will be considered.
