All Executive Inn Liens Settled

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – The city of Paducah has agreed to settle the last remaining lien on the Executive Inn. Premier Fire Protection of Paducah, the company that worked on the sprinkler system and fire extinguishers so the hotel could reopen for last year's quilt show, had demanded the city pay up. The company threatened legal action against Paducah, saying a verbal commitment from Mayor Bill Paxton had guaranteed the city would cover the cost. The Paducah Sun reports the city has agreed to pay an additional $26,000 on top of the almost $31,000 already paid. After settling the last of nine liens on the hotel, the city plans to demolish the building this summer and seek a developer to build a new one.
