Nashville, TN – A bill has passed the Tennessee Senate that would require jailers to share information involving suspected illegal immigrants with enforcement officials. Republican Senator Delores Gresham sponsored the bill that was approved today. Jailers would be required to give information if a person's citizenship status could not be determined from documents in the individual's own possession when arrested. Supporters say it's necessary because some jailers don't always report the information.
