Clarksville, TN – Clarksville, Tennessee Mayor Johnny Piper says the city is close to negotiating a deal with who will next occupy the old Gateway Medical Center property in the Hilldale area. Piper wouldn't specify to the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle who the new tenant will likely be. Discussions this week centered on redeveloping the entire block on Madison Street. The city may be required to upgrade infrastructure in the area, such as traffic lights and underground utilities. Piper expects if further negotiations go well, he will be calling a special meeting with city council members within the next month.
