Frankfort, KY – House and Senate members could make final changes in the state's un-employment trust fund today. The full senate is expected to take up the house approved bill Friday. Western Kentucky Senator David Givens says the legislature should go further in its modifications
"If we have a climate that's vibrant and exciting and job creating we suddenly have more demand than possibly supply and so wages go up in response to that."
The house unemployment insurance bill moves the wage replacement rate from 68% to 62%. Givens argues the rate could be lowered down to about %52. He says he may call amendments on the floor today to make some additional changes.
