Paducah, KY – McCracken Circuit Judge Craig Clymer has ordered the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab in Frankfort to expedite DNA testing in a local rape case. The trial of Myron Parsons was set to begin two weeks ago, but has been postponed because of a state lab backlog. It's now set for July 15th. Parsons is accused of raping a woman in a crowded Paducah bar last year. Judge Clymer tells the Paducah Sun he doesn't want to be overbearing,' but at the same time Parsons has a constitutional right to a speedy trial. He says if the DNA results don't come in time, he will consider reducing Parsons' bail so that he can get out of jail.
