Frankfort, KY – Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jack Conway has taken a stand opposite his Republican counterpart on birthright citizenship. Conway says that he disagrees with Republican Rand Paul's opposition to birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants. Conway says the 14th Amendment makes clear that anyone who is born in this country should be a citizen. Paul, who won the GOP nomination to run for retiring Senator Jim Bunning's seat, had said in a television interview shortly after the primary election that he opposes birthright citizenship in those cases.
