Nashville, TN – Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment is laying off more than 1,700 employees as a result of flooding that inundated the Gaylord Opryland Resort, the Grand Ole Opry House and other company properties. The company informed 1,743 workers Wednesday they would be released June 12 with two weeks pay plus unused vacation. At this point, rehiring is estimated to begin mid to late October. The net cash impact of the flood on Gaylord is projected to be $169 to $179 million.
