DOC Halts Transferring Inmates to Paducah Halfway House

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – Kentucky's Department of Corrections has temporarily stopped sending inmates to a Paducah halfway house while an investigation into multiple escapes is underway. It's the second of two ongoing investigations into four escape incidents at Keeton Corrections' Community Service Center, where seven inmates have gone loose since February and two still remain at large. Kentucky State Police investigators are looking into what role employees at the privately owned facility may have played in the escapes. At the same time, a Department of Corrections' investigation is focusing on management and operations. The Paducah Sun reports two halfway house employees have already been fired.
