Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell's long-time planned Wings of Liberty Museum may be closer to becoming a reality. Major General John Campbell, along with a Nashville-based architectural firm, unveiled updated designs that greatly reduce cost, yet offer a virtually identical layout. The new design brings the estimated cost down by some $15 million and is expected to help expedite the project. The new design excludes plans of an IMAX theater, and despite the reduced cost, $15 million is still needed before construction can begin. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports many of the planned exhibits are already being assembled, land is already allocated, and officials have promised to create a separate entrance to access the facility that bypasses the heavily trafficked Visitors Center at Gate 4.
