Carbondale, IL – Authorities at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale are assessing damage to a building where a lab fire broke out yesterday. No injuries resulted from the chemical blaze, but a wing of the building remains restricted. Officials say the fire began when a student was cleaning equipment.
