Fiscal Court Hires Architects for Shelter

By Angela Hatton

Madisonville, KY – The Hopkins County Fiscal Court recently approved funding to hire an architectural firm to design a new animal shelter. Judge Executive Donnie Carroll says the court approved twelve thousand dollars to hire Daggett and Grigg Architects of Charlottesville, Virginia. The firm will analyze the shelter location near the jail, and project cost and size. Officials hope the new set-up will better showcase adoptable pets, and help reduce the county's high euthanasia rate.
