Committee Votes on Tuition Increases

By Angela Hatton

Nashville, TN – A tuition increase that would range into double digits for some university students in Tennessee is set for a vote tomorrow. Students at Austin Peay State University who take 12 credit hours a semester will see a 5 percent increase per semester. Students with 18 credit hours will have to pay over ten percent more per semester. If the Tennessee Board of Regents Business and Finance Committee approves the increase, it will be considered by the full Board of Regents June 25. The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees, which oversees UT-Martin, is set to vote on tuition June 24.
