Preservation in LBL

By Angela Hatton

Golden Pond, KY – Forest Service Officials are working to finalize a plan to preserve historical sites in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The plan is a part of a nationwide project by the U.S. Forest Service to identify areas that deserve conservation. LBL Spokesperson Kathryn Harper says the plan won't just focus on recent history before the Tennessee Valley Authority acquired the land. Forest service archeologists will work to protect artifacts and locations from as far back as ancient times. The plan is available online for comment through August 1.
